Darryle Hau'oli Alfapada Sr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and gifted drummer, passed away on February 28, 2026, at the age of 62. He was born on November 5, 1963, and throughout his life he carried the spirit of aloha-sharing warmth, music, and laughter with everyone around him.
Music was the heartbeat of Darryle's life. As a passionate drummer, he brought rhythm and energy wherever he played, whether on stage, among friends, or at family gatherings. His love for music was not just about sound, but about connection bringing people together, celebrating life, and expressing joy. Those who knew him will always remember the steady beat of his drums and the larger-than-life presence he carried with him.
Above all else, Darryle cherished his family. He is lovingly survived by his devoted wife; Ernestine "Pinky" Alfapada, his children, Leslie (Andrew) Chong, Brandy (Lewi) Hampton, Darryle (Shanna) Alfapada Ji., Dane Alfapada, Dehvin (Julie) Alfapada, and Deja-Raye Alfapada; and his siblings, Mary Craig, Gordon Alfapada, and Halowen Alfapada.

His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Mi Nei Daley, Meleana White, Andrew-Jace Chong, Mahie Chong, Bella-Moon Hunkin, Kingston Hunkin, Leo Caires, Sage-Lynn Alfapada, Darryle-James Alfapada, Daesen-Reign Alfapada, and Kyzen Alfapada.
Darryle will be remembered for his deep love for his 'ohana, his generous heart, and the rhythm he brought to life. His laughter, music, and unwavering spirit will live on in the memories of those who knew and loved him.

Though he is deeply missed, his family finds comfort knowing his rhythm continues on in the hearts of his loved ones and in every beat of the music he loved.
