Celebration of Life

A celebration of Mahea’s life will be held at Saint George Catholic Church 41-1323 Kalanianaʻole Hwy, Waimanalo, HI 96795 on Saturday, October 26th. Visitation is at 9am and 11am funeral mass with lunch/celebration of life to follow.

Eva-Marie Mahealani De Motta, 55, of Waimanalo, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2024, surrounded by her beloved Ohana and her dear brother by her side. Eva, affectionately known to friends and family as Mahea, dedicated her life to God, church, and her loved ones.
Growing up on Waimanalo Homestead, Mahea was a true country girl at heart. Influenced by her love of Country Western music, she dreamt of becoming a country singer. Through her school years, she balanced her studies with writing songs and caring for her younger brother and cousins. They are all grateful and will cherish the endless adventures and joyful times spent together with her.
A devoted member of Saint George Catholic Parish in Waimanalo, Mahea spent many years working in the church office, teaching catechism, and sharing her beautiful voice in the choir. Her faith was a guiding light in her life, and she inspired all around her with her kindness and aloha.
In addition to her love for music, Mahea studied business and had a passion for baking and cats. She was the heart of every gathering, never missing an opportunity to celebrate with friends and family.
Mahea’s unwavering devotion to helping others and her radiant spirit made her a beautiful presence in the lives of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed by all, leaving behind a legacy of love and light.
Eva-Marie is preceded in death by her mother Linda Ann Duvauchelle(Silva)and Father Donald Anthony De Motta Sr. She is survived by her brother Donald Anthony De Motta Jr., brother Bernard George De Motta, sister Cheyenne May De Motta, step mother Marylin De Motta, step brothers Jim Nascimento, Roger Nascimento, Clarence Nascimento, Walter Morreira and step sister Ann Gomes.
