Mark Madarang Vida

Mark M. Vida, of Honolulu, Hawaiʻi, passed away unexpectedly on February 15, 2026, at the age of 46.

Mark was born on March 6, 1979, at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Subic Bay, Philippines, while his father was stationed there. He was the beloved son of Carlos M. Vida, a retired U.S. Navy serviceman, and Teresa M. Vida. From the very beginning, Mark brought immense joy to our family. As the youngest of five siblings — the baby of the family — he was deeply loved, protected, and yes, even a little spoiled.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 14 years, Daphne C. Vida; his loving mother, Teresa M. Vida; and his siblings: Cynthia Lacad (Rudy Lacad), Darryl Vida (Evangeline “Vangie” Vida), Edgar Vida (Sharla Vida), and Susan Vida-Sampayan (Joselito Sampayan).
Mark is also survived by his four beloved fur babies — Yogi, Skye, Terry Crews, and Koa — who brought him immeasurable joy.

He leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly and spoiled often. Mark treasured his role as an uncle and found great happiness in treating them to their favorite foods and celebrating life’s simple moments together.
