Philip Michael Brawner (63) died in Honolulu, January 4, 2024. "Mike" was born in Big Springs, Texas on June 14, 1960, and raised in Riverside, California, graduating from Ramona High School in 1978. He briefly attended college in Texas before moving to Kailua, Hawaiʻi and attending Hawaiʻi Pacific University.
Soon after relocating to Kailua, Mike started work as a cart attendant at the Mid-Pacific Country Club Golf Shop. He transferred outdoors to the MPCC golf course and eventually served as the Assistant Course Superintendent for many years.
Mike is survived by his long-time companion, Charlene Luning; children, Amanda Luning (Danielle Dias) and Rebecca (Kaimana) Kaʻanehe; and grandchildren, Brianna Vegas, Braden Marquez, Kekai Kaʻanehe and Lana Kaʻanehe; and his siblings Kimberly (Ken) Wolf, Kristi (Ken) Martinez, and David Brawner; He is preceded in death by his parents, Philip H. Brawner and Shirley (Smith) Brawner.
