Richard (Dick) Lee Bryce, age 76, of Kaneohe, Hawaii passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025. He was
surrounded by his loving sons, friends and family.
Richard was born on March 22, 1949, in Lamoille, Vermont, and was adopted by Olin Bryce and Kathrine McGawan. The values instilled in him growing up on Bryce Farm in Cambridge shaped the man we all came to know and love—a man whose work ethic was matched only by his boundless capacity for love and adventure.
After graduating from Jefferson High School, Dick embodied determination, working full-time at General Electric while attending night school to earn his bachelor's degree. This began a remarkable 40-year career with GE that took him from Burlington, Vermont to Albuquerque, New Mexico, and finally to Cincinnati, Ohio, where he ultimately retired in 2009 after more than 40 years of service.
Those of us fortunate enough to know Dick understand that the phrase 'he would do anything for anyone' wasn't just something nice to say about him—it was the absolute truth. Whether you had known him for decades or had just met him five minutes ago, Dick made you feel like you mattered. He didn't know what it meant to meet a stranger; he only knew how to make new friends.
After retiring, Dick embraced his freedom with characteristic enthusiasm, traveling extensively with his beloved partner Cindy Giorgis and his sons and their families. From skiing across the western United States to hiking in New Zealand, Alaska, Italy, Holland, France, Japan, Chile and many more, Dick's appetite for new experiences and adventures never waned.
What made Dick truly special wasn't just where he went or what he did, but how he lived. He found joy in simple pleasures and grand adventures alike. He loved fiercely and without reservation. The impact he made on all our lives is immeasurable and enduring.
In Dick's 76 years, he showed us what it means to live a life to the fullest—to work hard but play harder, to create meaningful connections everywhere you go, and to cherish the people and experiences that make life worth living. Richard was predeceased by his wife Sheila-Mun Bryce, his parents Olin Bryce Sr. and
Kathrine Hislop and his brothers and sisters James Bryce, Virginia Hanker, Glenna McGowan and Carroll Bryce.
Richard is survived by his three sons who respected, loved and appreciated this wonderful man who will be missed more than words can express, Mike, Luke and Marcus, his daughters-in-law, whom he loved like his own, Eva, Cassie and Emily, his six grandchildren whom he doted on and taught so much about how to live your life like an adventure every day, Joshua, Mia, Ethan, Corbin, Claire and Cerulean, his partner in
his many adventures over the past decade Cindy Giorgis, his siblings Olin (Junior) Bryce Jr., Lucille Jimmo and Esther Meyer.
