Celebration of Life

A Celebration of Life will be held on March 12th from 4pm - 7pm at the Vistas Clubhouse located at the corner of Lako and Pualani streets

The sudden death of David Craig Gramlich, CEO of Protex Painting and The Big Island Beauty Academy on Tuesday February 28, 2023, came as a shock to his family, friends, colleagues, and students. His death was a direct result of complications due to a rare condition called Aortic Dissection. The medical team at Queens Punch bowl, did everything they could to save him, he was so strong, and he fought so hard to not leave us. Please know that David was surrounded by all his family and left this world peacefully. He is now reunited with his beloved son Jordan and brother Steven. Knowing this gives us all great comfort.

David was an amazing human; he was a Doer not a Sayer and he had so much integrity. David was the leader of our family, both family businesses, our pillar, and could fill any room with his boisterous energy. He lived life to the fullest, enjoying travel, cooking, music, sports, friends, and his beloved family. He was an amazing son, brother, husband & father. His children were his greatest pride. He will live on always in the hearts of many, but especially his family who will be taking the reins of both businesses because David was also an amazing mentor and taught us all so much. It is unimaginable that we must carry on without him, but we will live life to make him proud.

David is survived by his wife; Monica Gramlich; daughter; Danielle Gramlich; stepchildren; Alex, Shea (Adam); grandson; Eric Chase; parents; Karen Arnold, Jim Gramlich; sisters; Marcy Pulotu(Puaita); Kristine Gramlich; nephews; David, Kaua(Mahina), Kamisese; great nephews; Kamau, Lawaia
