Dora Sher

Dori Sher (née Yarmo) grew up in Toronto, Canada to parents Harry and Ethel with a younger sister, Lilly. Dori moved to Los Angeles where she met Milton Sher. They married on July 2, 1961. In 1968, they moved to Honolulu with their two daughters. Dori was a devoted wife and mother and remained married to Milt, a well known local architect, for 63 years, until her death. She raised her two daughters to be successful women, Ellen a physician and Stephanie a psychologist. Dori loved cooking, reading and traveling across Europe and the United States with Milt. She and Milt were avid sailors and life members of the Waikiki Yacht Club. Active in recreational flying and gliding, they were well known at Van Nuys and Dillingham Airfields. She was active in Hadassah in Toronto and enjoyed and supported the Honolulu Symphony, Diamond Head Community Theater and Hawaii Opera Theater. She is survived by her loving husband Milt, her daughters Ellen (Stanton Goldman) and Stephanie (Bill Murray), and her grandchildren Adam (Alyssa) and Alessandra. She will be forever missed but always in their hearts.
