Floyd Joseph Rozewski Jr.
85, of Mililani, passed away unexpectedly on January 2, 2025 with his family at his side. He
was born on November 9, 1939 in Bay City, Michigan. He was the oldest son and predeceased
by parents, Floyd Sr. and Eleanor Rozewski.

Floyd was a proud Vietnam army veteran who loved his country and family. He stayed in
Vietnam for an extended period after his tour of duty in 1965 and worked for the DAO until the
war was ending and he was forced to leave. After sending his wife and daughter out of Saigon,
he stayed back to ensure the safe passage of seven of his in-laws to the States. This was the
type of person Floyd was…selfless, courageous and loving.

In 2021, while planning a long awaited family trip to Vietnam, Floyd was diagnosed with Stage 3
cancer. He was determined to survive cancer through extensive chemotherapy so he could
make this happen. In July 2024, although he was still weak and recovering from his
treatments, he accomplished this dream. Although it was a rigorous, demanding trip, he never
complained once. He always found the good in everything while offering a smile and trying to
be supportive. Floyd was looking forward to more travelling this year, including another trip to
Vietnam and to Michigan, to see his siblings, when he passed.

Floyd lived a long, full and happy life. His motto was “have fun, be awesome and be happy.”
He also said to not be sad when he passed as “he is in heaven.” He was a loving and devoted
husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He loved all of the holidays and get togethers,
especially Christmas. He loved decorating the house for Christmas and having family and
friends come over to enjoy a good meal. The home was always open to anyone, anytime, who
wanted to stop by for a visit. Always positive and supportive, he will be missed by so many
who were fortunate to be in his life.
Floyd is survived by his loving wife of over 50 years, Trong; daughter Elizabeth, sons Andrew
and Christopher (Marisa), four beloved grandchildren, Nani, Ariella, Jude and Mia; sister
Rosemary Rozewski, brothers Thomas Ross (Judy) and Mike Rozewski (Lisa); brother and
sister-in laws, many nieces and nephews and their children. He loved them all.
We love you and miss you so much dad. We are forever grateful for you. We are so thankful
that God put you in our lives. You selflessly risked your life during the war to bring your wife’s
family to the U.S. Thank you for being the most amazing husband, father, grandpa, brother,
uncle and friend.
