Frances Lokelani Racoma (Kiaaina)

June 7, 1952 - September 26, 2025

Celebration of Life

Frances Lokelani Racoma (Kiaaina) of Waimanalo was born on June 7, 1952, and passed peacefully on September 26, 2025, surrounded by her ohana at her home in Kaneohe.

She attended Waimanalo Elementary and Intermediate, graduating from Kailua High School, Class of 1970, and later earned an Associat’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Honolulu Community College.

Frances worked with dedication and care throughout her life. From her first job at Rocky Road to HCAP, years as a paralegal secretary, on to Bank of America with working at Jack in the Box as a second job, she eventually served with the State of Hawai’i in child Protective Services, where she supported children and families until her retirement.

Frances was also a member of the Waikiki and Kaumuali’i Hawaiian Civic Club. Through these clubs, she participated in many cultural activities and gave her time to serve her community.

She was talented with her hands, sewing prom dresses for siblings, crocheting, crafting, and also known for her skills as a softball pitcher. Though a lefty, she even learned to golf right-handed. She coached Bobby Sox alongside her sisters.

Frances is preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Charlotte Kiaaina; siblings, Bernadine, Sarah Kealoha, Benjamin Jr. and Daniel Kiaaina; children, Shannon “Nayah” Racoma and Runi “Buddy” Racoma Jr.; and granddaughter Ka’ai’ohelo Nobrega-Olivera.

She is survived by her sisters, Dorlin Kaaihili and Janice “Penny” Kiaaina; children, Victoria Puaala (Chris) Kimsel, Victor “Budda” Malia Nobrega-Olivera, and Stacey Racoma; Adopted boys, Isaiah, Israel, and Fynix; grandchildren, Genoa, Sharray (Adrina), Shardae (Keiki), Shaydan, Kaeden, Taedan, Xaydan, Paul (Megan), Joshua (Asia), and Matt, great grandsons, Kunuiakea and Pahili, great-granddaughters Faavae Lelei, Ta’ua, Kenese, Lilinoe.

Frances’s love, laughter, and service will live on through her ohana and community.
