Lyn Denise Jones-Cardenas

Lyn Denise Jones-Cardenas 66, of Kaneohe, Hawaii, passed away in Honolulu, Hawaii on June 7, 2023. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 23, 1956. Lyn settled on Oahu in her younger years. Graduating from Aiea High School. She went on to become the 2nd female City & County Lifeguard hired in the early seventies. She was involved in canoe p-adling and eventually became a race official for OHCRA and Hui Waa for several years. Lyn retired from the State of Hawaii. She is predeceased by son Keone and survived by husband John Cardenas, Daughters Lia (Troy) Higashi, Jaclyn (Marc) Carreira and grandchildren Juliana, Mason, Maelyn and Royal. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday July 13, 2023 3:00pm-8:00pm at Koolau Ballrooms, Kaneohe, HI. Scattering of her ashes set for a later date.
