Mathew ‘Maty’ Alan Bays

Mathew ‘Maty’ Alan Bays was born in Marion on the 17th of February, 1988 and passed on March 10, 2026 at the age of 38 years old.

Maty grew up in Richwood, Ohio where he graduated from North Union High School in 2006.
After graduation, Maty worked as a hospice nurse for several years before deciding to move to Honolulu, Hawaii with his best friend John Sagal. Maty loved his Siberian Husky, Zero.
He lived life to the fullest by skydiving and cliff jumping, but he also had the wonderful skill of bringing people together through laughter.

Mathew was known for his warm heart and welcoming spirit. He had a special gift for making people feel comfortable and valued, often showing others just how amazing and important they were. Anyone who met Mathew quickly felt his kindness and genuine care for the people around him.

Mathew is survived by his mother, Valerie Parker, his stepfather, Fred Parker, and his brothers, Justin Bays and Darren Bays.
