A celebration of life will be held in his hometown, Rushville, IL, in the summer of 2026, where friends, family, and colleagues will have the opportunity to honor Ryan's legacy and share memories of a life well-lived.
Ryan Dale Powell, aged 45, passed away on June 13, 2025, in Pearl City, HI. Born on August 6, 1979, in Macomb, IL, Ryan was known for his deep love for his family, especially his wife, Candi, and their two sons, Heaton and Canyan. He cherished time spent with his mother, Cheryl L. Fickas (Clawson), and his sisters, Tara Smedley, Kayla (Carlos) Boudreaux, and Megan Powell, along with many relatives including aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews as well as his friends near and far.
Ryan was preceded in death by his father, Rodney D. Powell, his stepfather, Elmer "Red" Fickas, his sister, Carrie Powell, his brother, Rodney Darren Powell, and his grandparents, Myrna and Richard Powell, Bonnie and Gerald Cobb, and William Clawson.
A proud alumnus of Rushville High School and Hawaii Pacific University, Ryan served honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1997 to 2002. Professionally, he excelled as a Site Lead Satellite Engineer with Amentum and the US Army, working closely with military DEPOPS, showcasing his commitment and expertise in supporting defense operations. Throughout the years, he was able to travel to the Philippines, Thailand, Korea, Japan and Australia. He was very proud of the team of people he worked with and their accomplishments throughout the years.
Ryan's passions included the Chicago Bears, football Sundays, trivia nights, and adventurous outings in his jeep. His hobbies not only brought joy to his life but also to those around him, creating cherished memories during gatherings and spontaneous explorations.
His spirit, characterized by his generosity, warmth, and adventurous nature, will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
