Wayne “Sound” Haia

Wayne K. Haia, 74, of Pearl City, HI, passed away on November 5, 2025. He was born on Damon Tract and raised in Kailua.

He loved God, Hawaiian music, flight, and electronics. He worked at Tripler in the IT Dept. A Class of '69 alumni of Kamehameha Schools and Vietnam era Army Veteran, he spent many years as the sound man with Kamalamalama Brothers, and volunteered on the sound teams of several Oahu churches.

A beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle; he is survived by his wife Lani, his daughters Lena Coleon, Naomi Winley, LuAnn Poti (Thomas) and Tairen Coleon, his sisters Poni Morales, Louella Haia, brothers Charles, Brian (Andrea), Keanu (Michelle), 8 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

An intimate celebration of life has been held.
